One of our greatest sources of strength--Knowing that Jesus is interceding on our behalf...

                             The Completed Work of Christ

Intercession

**  Tells us what Jesus is doing for us today.

**  By-product is peace, comfort, assurance, and confidence.

**  Gives us an example of what we are to be doing today.

**  Takes the focus off of us and our ability to “remember what to pray for” and puts it in the hands of Jesus and His “shepherding” the children of God.

Text:

Isaiah 53:12  “Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, and interceded for the transgressors.”

Hebrews 7:24,25  “but He, on the other hand, because He abides forever, holds His priesthood permanently.  Hence, also, He is able to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.”

Romans 8:26, 27  "And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God."

Romans 8:34  “Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.”
