Eternally Safe & Secure in Jesus

 The Completed Work of Christ

Texts:

II Cor. 1:21,22  “Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God, who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.”

Ephesians 1:13  “In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise.”

Ephesians 4:30  “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”

**  Positional experience at salvation.

**  Greek word (sphragizo) a seal, a signet, put or set a seal.

**  Similar to the sealing of the tomb when Jesus was buried and the Roman seal that placed on the tomb.  Symbolic of all the power and authority of the Roman Empire.

**  Sealed with/by the blood of Jesus.

**  Absolutely complete and trustworthy.

PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS

**  Means you are eternally secure as a child of God.

**  Means you are eternally protected as a child of God.

I Cor. 10:13  “No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it.”

**  Since security is settled, you can move further on into maturity.  A believer who is strong and confident of his/her standing in Christ, is equipped and ready to grow and mature in their faith and in their relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
