Beginning Your New Faith Adventure with the Spirit
As you get ready to start your new faith adventure it is imperative that you have a good solid understanding of what happened to you when you got saved, what the Spirit did then and is doing now, and what He will be doing in the days ahead. This all begins when you get saved and enter into a living relationship with the Lord. Let's begin with this teaching about the indwelling of the Spirit...
Basic Premise: Jesus Christ has completely met every obligation, need, and requirement to totally secure us as a child of God.
Basic Truth: The Son of God takes up residence in our lives at the moment of salvation.
Text: I John 5:13 “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life.
Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with Me.”
Colossians 1:27 “…Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
Romans 8:11 “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who indwells you.”
** INDWELLING is a once and for all experience that needs never to be repeated.
** We can be sure of the indwelling. (I John 5:13)
** Once that question is settled, then you can grow on into maturity.
** INDWELLING means you have all that God is, has been, and ever will be dwelling inside you.
** Settle the question and then launch out into your adventure of faith.
I love this. It is a foundation that sets the tone for our spiritual growth. If you are a Christian of one hour, or 50 years, these promises of God remain truthful and eternal.
